Last week, I finished my four first sessions, and am noticing changes in both my body and consciousness.  First, I am free of neck, shoulder, and back pain that has existed for over 20 years. In addition, I can now ride my bike without severe knee pain. That, however, is just the beginning. Besides wanting to reduce pain, I began working with Danny to reduce the amount of time I spent tensed up during the day. II have to say that I was skeptical at first, I admit. I went to try to understand the concept. Pain is a good motivator anyway.

I had a reoccurring tightness and pain in my shoulder blade from sitting at the computer and using the mouse. And every morning I would wake with back soreness from our sagging mattress.

After many years of struggling to find a long term solution to a continuous neck disc problem I began a period of four somatic sessions under Danny Burke’s guidance. I had first tried yoga, months of physical therapy which gave no relief, and months of daily chiropractor visits. I experienced a remarkable difference after only my first session with Danny and my neck pain had completely disappeared that evening. I arrived home with the most relaxed muscles and calm feeling which resulted in the best sleep in many years. After four sessions with Danny my entire body felt internally & looked externally aligned, I physically stood both taller and straighter, had improved walking by putting less strain on my body, but most of all my neck and shoulder pain was gone. As a professional in the medical field I often see physicians prescribing the same treatment over and over for every patient, Danny’s somatic exercises are truly catered to each person’s individual needs and goals to be achieved. I do not think it is a coincidence that I went to see you last week and I ran the Crescent city classic yesterday and my foot doesn’t hurt, it does not even have a knot under it and it is not swollen. You are fabulous and Happy Easter.

Hey, Danny… I had to go cut down a tree in a condo, and after pulling and chopping, I lost. Tree won. Then I slipped two or three steps down the ladder falling on my rear end. I thought I was going to be deeply sore the next day, but lo and behold, I wasn’t!! I think thanks to the discipline of somatics incorporated in my daily life, I have prevented some injury. Somatics is the way to a pain-injury free life!!
